i love glitter

It's nearly impossible to get good photos since it has been gray & rainy for the past few days. It's days like today {yesterday, and from what I can tell tomorrow, too} that I just want to sprinkle glitter all over the world. Let's do that, yes?
It is my life's mission to find, own, & wear these shorts... every single day of my life.
Cupcakes & glitter? Are there things more amazing than these?

This is pretty, but have you ever gotten glitter in your eye? It hurts like nothing else.

I got all the images from Pinterest which if you aren't using you MUST start. You can keep everything pretty in one place & share the pretty. Isn't sharing the best?

S is for Sparkle

I have a slight obsession with things that are sparkly & shiny. After a manicure, I stare at my fingers because they look like juicy candy. I have shoes that are covered in black sequins and I like to wear them when I feel blah. I also like to wear them on days ending in 'ay' but let's not split hairs.

Recently I purchased a glittery nail polish that I thought would be oh so very magical. Sadly, I can barely get one piece of glitter out of it. I need tips! How do I get this

 to look like this?
I'm just a nose twitch away from pouring some glitter on my nails. Now, I have regular old shimmery, glittery nail polish but I just want more. I want the exact $2.80 bottle of polish in rainbow madness to infect my nails with the herpes of the glitter world!

In case you were wondering about today and my streak of amazing luck at work, it was a less than glorious day. Let's just leave it there and mention that as I type this I'm watching the instant classic Tangled.

Ponder with me, if you will, should I partake in the 30 for 30 challenge? If I DO partake, what if I happen upon something while thrifting that is so amazing I must own it? I think I'll have to make it my own if I decide to do it. Oh the questions that plague...

In case you need some sparkle in your life, I'm here to help:

Martha Stewart glitter for all your crafting needs

Admittedly, there isn't too much glimmer here, but aren't these Tiffany & Co sunglasses simply divine? Me wants them.

Mark my words, next year I will either come to school wearing this ban.do treasure in my hair or attached to my coat. End of story.

I've Got a Bike, You Can Ride It If You Like

I have to preface this post by telling you that I am going to talk about food. Almost exclusively. Okay,  that's over- you were warned.

Today I got my cupcake from Queen City Cupcake. I have to say that when I walked in and didn't see any Peppermint Pattie deliciousness in their tray, I was discouraged. Fortunately, one of the trays was just mislabeled. My goodness was it ever scrumptious. The frosting was light- just the way I like it. I even got a cupcake reward card. Huzzah! Buy 11 cupcakes, get one free. I don't think this will be a difficult feat.

I probably would have gotten more cupcakes {like my favorite, red velvet} but I had just finished an AMAZING meal from The Bridge Cafe. A strawberry banana smoothie {I heart smoothies so much}, cubed steak & cheese on a tortilla with green peppers,  scrumptious potato salad that I really want to find the recipe for {mustard?! That's what I call potato salad}. I could hardly stop myself from eating all of it before I got a picture.
I even rode my bike, Coquette down to get it & put the leftovers in my basket {cupcake goodies, too}.

Speaking of leftovers, I've been thinking recently that I'm going to start bringing my own Pyrex with me to take leftovers home. I hate using those styrofoam containers. I feel guilty whenever I see them in the fridge, and even guiltier when I get rid of them. I'm thinking I might get some divided glass ones and start taking them in a canvas bag. Or is that too weird?

Tomorrow, I head to the mall for the grand opening of Ulta. I've never been to one. I'm hoping it's a lot like Sephora & I can come home with some swag. Maybe I'll even get enough makeup to make myself look like this.

Yes?

{P.S. I really love hyphens... and ellipses... but not semicolons. So I just won't be using them. That is all.}

Dress Fit for a Royal

I inadvertently stayed up to watch the beginning of the royal wedding, but somehow managed to miss the ceremony itself. That didn't stop me from cooing when I saw the hats & Kate Middleton's dress. Sarah Burton for McQueen. Dreamy.

I love that Pippa Middleton was also wearing white. It's one of my favorite wedding fashion ideas. In fact, it goes hand in hand with my admiration for whimsical, fairy-tale weddings. Ugh. Now all I want to do is wear a glorious hat around town. Will this desire ever subside?

Is It Too Late to be a Ballerina Princess?

My heart stopped a little bit at 11:44 this morning. Why, you ask? Because that's the timestamp on the email I received from "Heaven on Earth" {some call it Anthropologie, but I digress} that they were coming out with a bridal line. Combining my love of all things Anthro {just a little nickname for my retail BFF. I came up with it on my own, naturally...} with my love of all things frilly.

Aaaah! I'm dying inside.

So, I went to the website on my lunch break & what did I see but a gorgeous flash site taunting me with quick snippets. Tease. I don't think I can wait until February 14th for the launch. Also, since I'm not engaged I need to find places where it will be appropriate to wear wedding dresses. I would need more than one, of course. Which is why, my friends, I ask you- is it too late to be a ballerina princess? I could wear feathers, lace, rhinestones, tutus, and gowns all day. Petticoats would be a regular part of my wardrobe. I'd slap on a tiara & maybe don a cute pink wig {a la ScarJo} and head out to check out Target's dollar bin. In my next life, I'd like to come back as The Ga's slightly less over-the-top, equally as famous cousin.

Thank you, Anthropologie's BHLDN. Let's get married... or at least snuggle.

This one isn't from Anthropologie, but doesn't it look like it should be?

I found this on my beloved Dujour website. Getting a digital subscription was probably the best money I ever spent. Only $9.99, are you kidding? This is the stuff dreams are made of, for real.

P.S. This blog is basically just a love letter to Anthropologie & Dujour. I know. I know.
